Best SHW White: Oldbury Reserve 2010 Sauvignon Blanc
By editor | | Category: SHW: Southern Highland Wines | No Comments »
Winemaker’s tasting notes: The 2010 follows on from our 2009 Oldbury Reserve Sauvignon Blanc that was our most awarded wine. The reserve Sauvignon Blanc was crafted by selecting the best fruit from our high altitude vineyards. We exploited techniques like cold maceration, and low temperature fermentation in order to preserve the delicate aromas and intense personality of this variety. The Sauvignon Blanc exudes exotic whiffs like gooseberry, lychee, passionfruit and limes, all entangled with green hints of tinned asparagus and capsicum. The palate is seductively round and silky all over. This wine would be best served with seafood, Thai and Chinese dishes.
Awards: Silver Medal at Shanghai International Wine Show 2010. That makes this Sauvignon Blanc 2nd in world. No Australian winery achieved higher results.
Highly commended at Sydney International Wine Show 2009
